What’s Your Wreath Style?

Seasonal Wreaths: On-Trend, Elegant, Understated, Cute, Farmhouse and Traditional

This year, I got a new fall wreath from Michaels. It’s an updated traditional style, and I’d say that’s typical for my wreath choices. That one (above) is maybe a little bigger and busier than my usual choices, but my current front door is a wood beaut begging for attention from people walking by on the parkway, so I wanted to accessorize her with some appropriate flair.

What style of seasonal wreaths do you gravitate toward? I found 12 fall wreaths you can DIY or buy: 2 of each in the categories of On-Trend, Elegant, Understated, Cute, Farmhouse and Traditional.

On-Trend

The silk flowers were carefully selected (are they magnolias?) for tone and simplicity, so that they feel posh on the embroidery hoop. She stained a regular craft store hoop in a warm medium tone.

This air plant wreath is so modern and whimsical.

Elegant

Even though this wreath isn’t full, it is still opulent with dramatic swaths of persimmon and hydrangea.

The size, layering and bouquet of red roses all make this wreath pointedly sophisticated.

Understated

The obvious best choice for an afternoon is to make this and tamales.

Minimal amounts of eucalyptus, baby’s breath, cotton and greenery are tied to a hanging hook from a floral shop for a modern and graceful look.

Cute

This is so unabashedly all-in on the stereotypes of a Pumpkin Spice Latte lover that  I thought it was tongue-in-cheek at first…but hey, to each her own.

A wispy critter peeking out of an overstuffed circle melts your heart. The neutral color palette keeps it from going too twee.

Farmhouse

I love the harvest fruit wreath updated with dehydrated apple slices. It’s fragrant from both the apples and the stars of anise.

Traditional

Sure, this elaborate and idyllic scene may have crossed over from inspiration to fantasy-life for most of us, but I let it keep its claim of “traditional” wreath tutorial because of the timeless combination of evergreen, seasonal fruit, floral and a bow.

wreath-berry

Berry Halloween Wreath on SimplebyBrooke.

Pip berries always work. I don’t buy the styrofoam berry wreaths anymore, because they seem to beg my kids to pick at them, and in my lazy storage box they always break. SimplybyBrooke seals her wreaths, so I assume they are more durable.

I’d love to see your fall wreath! Tag me on Instagram @akitchensculp.
